Attractions
Honey Creek State Park has 828 acres of rolling, timbered hills with the beautiful backdrop of Iowa’s second largest lake, Rathbun Lake.
This is one of the few coal mining museums in the country and the exhibits include large collection of photos, two walk-in replicas of coal mines, a scale model replica of the Diamond Mine, a scale model of a mining camp and a scale model of the mining town of Mystic, circa 1907.
For all boating styles and activities. Coves, creeks, channels, & beaches for all uses and boating styles. Legendary walleye, catfish, and crappie fishing. Destination boating, family-friendly, and Iowa's best sunsets.
Public-use land around the lake is open for off-lake activities. Hunting, for a variety of birds; pheasant, turkey, duck, quail, and geese, and also for deer, is open in designated areas. Snowmobile trails along the lake's north shore provide 35 miles of winter fun.
Restaurants
A well rounded menu of hand-cut steaks, made-from-scratch pizza, and Iowa favorites like hand-breaded tenderloins. George & Nick's is open seven days a week and is now fully capable of hosting large groups and parties.
Tangleberries Eats Treats & Suites is a coffee/gift shop located on the south side of the Historical Centerville Square. We offer coffee specialty drinks, fruit smoothies, lunch and Fresh Fudge along with gifts, home and garden decor and fashion accessories.
Feast yourself on the waterfront deck with legendary tiki bar cocktails – just call, order on line or use the walk up to the order bar. Enjoy inside seating with an eclectic whimsical atmosphere complete with tunes and sports TVs.
